From to , Monarch of the Glen was a hit TV series. The BBC drama focused on a young restaurateur who came back to his childhood home in the Scottish Highlands to restore the home and subsequently modernise the estate. Monarch of the Glen ran for seven series with 64 episodes in total. For access into the far west end of the estate at Moy it is best to park in the large layby next to the concrete bridge Grid ref NN and walk in from there. During Stalking Season August to March climbers and hill walkers can contact the Estate Office during normal office hours if they are concerned about clashing with stalking activities.

The station at Broomhill doubled as Glenbogle Station in the show. The majestic beach at Cruden Bay is a fitting location for the popular Netflix royal drama, The Crown.

A popular beach for visitors, head to Cruden Bay and take a walk on the golden sands. Bought by Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, in it was her private residence away from the bustle of the royal palaces. Downton Abbey set in Yorkshire moved north for their Christmas special to the fictional Duneagle Castle.

So where is Duneagle Castle? Gallovie Cottage is a refurbished, traditional, semi-detached cottage the attached building is permanently empty so there are no neighbours set in a secluded woodland location behind Rowan Brae, ideal for those seeking a quiet holiday.

The cottage looks out over woodland, and is a very short walk from the spectacular Falls of Pattack, a dramatic waterfall on the nearby river. Rowan Brae is a bright and airy bungalow situated above Gallovie Farmhouse, with open views to the hills behind Inverpattack. Dogs are welcome but must be well behaved and kept under control at all times as the garden is not enclosed. Gallovie Farmhouse is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, so there are no images to share just yet, and it won't be available for new bookings from March — subject to any coronavirus restrictions that may be applicable at that time.

It is the largest holiday house at Ardverikie with all the character of a traditional Highland Lodge, and is set in its own large private garden with views over open fields to the hills behind Inverpattack.
